About This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Mark & Sarah Vancouver collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit or buy from marksarahvancouver.com.
The company responsible for your personal information is Ernivo Ecom, trading as Mark & Sarah Vancouver, at the address at the bottom of this page. For questions or requests about your data, email support@marksarahvancouver.com.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Your name
- Email address and phone number
- Billing address and shipping address
- Order details and payment confirmation details
- Messages you send to customer support, including any photos you attach
Information we collect automatically
- Device and browser information
- IP address and approximate location
- Website activity, such as pages viewed and products added to your cart
- How you arrived at our website, for example from a search engine or an advertisement
We only collect what is reasonably necessary to run our store, process your orders, improve our website and provide customer service. We never ask for information we do not need, and we do not collect your full card number at any point.
How We Use Your Information
- To process and fulfil your order
- To send order confirmations and shipping updates
- To answer customer service requests
- To handle returns, exchanges and refunds
- To improve our website and shopping experience
- To detect and prevent fraud and security problems
- To send marketing emails, if you have subscribed
- To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations
We use your information because it is necessary to perform the contract when you place an order, because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our store, because you have given consent for marketing and non-essential cookies, or because the law requires it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Shopify
Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform that lets us sell to you. Your information is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases and applications, and Shopify processes it on our behalf.
Payments
Payments are processed by trusted providers over an encrypted connection. Depending on the method you choose, your payment may be handled by Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or your card network.
Mark & Sarah Vancouver never sees or stores your full card number, expiry date or security code. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the last digits and card type.
Sharing Your Information
We share your information with service providers only where it is needed to run our business:
- Shopify, as our store platform
- Payment processors
- Shipping carriers
- Suppliers and fulfilment partners
- Customer support tools
- Email marketing platforms, if you subscribe
- Analytics and advertising providers, including Google and Meta
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights and prevent fraud. If our business is sold or transferred, your information may pass to the new owner so your orders and support can continue.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with anyone for their own independent marketing.
Direct Supplier Fulfilment
Because some orders are shipped directly from our suppliers, we share the details needed for delivery with them. This includes your name, shipping address, contact details and the items ordered. Suppliers may only use these details to pack and ship your order.
International Transfers
Some of our providers and suppliers are located outside your country, including in the United States, the European Union and China. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in and processed in those countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
When we transfer personal information abroad, we use providers who are contractually required to protect it and to use it only for the purposes we have agreed.
Marketing Emails
If you subscribe to our email list, we may send you updates about new arrivals, offers, sale events and store news. We only send marketing emails to people who have signed up.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by emailing support@marksarahvancouver.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order and shipping confirmations, which we have to send.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, remember your preferences, analyse traffic and support advertising. Some cookies are necessary for checkout to function. You can manage the rest through our cookie settings or your browser settings.
Our Cookie Policy explains each category in detail.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and trusted platforms and providers. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
Data Retention
We keep your personal information only as long as we need it. Order and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Customer support messages are kept while they remain relevant to your account. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. After that, we delete or anonymise the information.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Have your information deleted
- Object to or restrict how we use your information
- Withdraw your consent for marketing or non-essential cookies
- Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
Email support@marksarahvancouver.com to make a request. We respond within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not release your data to someone else.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the privacy regulator in your country. In Canada that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and in the European Union it is the data protection authority of the country where you live.
Children's Privacy
Our website and products are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third Party Links
Our website may link to third party websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy no longer applies once you leave our website.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will make that clear.
